Nvidia appears to be making a strategic move into the Arm processor market for Windows PCs, and they’re not going at it alone – they’ve joined forces with MediaTek.

In the near future, consumers will have the option to purchase Windows laptops powered by processors collaboratively crafted by MediaTek and Nvidia.

The two tech giants are reportedly pooling their expertise to develop single-chip systems, harnessing TSMC’s advanced CoWoS technology for manufacturing.

Anticipate the arrival of this cutting-edge chip in the market during the second quarter of the coming year, indicating that extensive groundwork has been in progress. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that this innovation is likely to target the higher-end laptop market, promising remarkable performance.

In this partnership, it is speculated that MediaTek will take charge of the processor component, while Nvidia will specialize in the GPU. Although Nvidia has previously ventured into Arm-based processors, it’s important to note that their focus hasn’t been on the consumer segment.

It’s worth recalling earlier discussions about the potential joint creation of a System on a Chip (SoC) for Chromebooks or even smartphones. However, it appears that the companies have realigned their strategy towards Windows PCs.
